Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 1, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Makin' Weight and Wellness MD Group (“we,” “us”) collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and telehealth services (the “Services”). Please read it carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly: contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, and California shipping address; intake and health information you submit through our eligibility quiz and clinical intake forms, including your medical history, current medications, relevant lab values, symptoms, and treatment goals; communications with our care team, including messages, questions, and follow-up updates you share with your physician; and payment method details, which are entered directly into a secure, PCI-compliant hosted payment form provided by our third-party payment processor. We do not receive, view, or store your full card number, and it never touches our own servers. Information collected automatically: basic technical and usage data when you browse our website, such as device and browser type, pages viewed, and referral source, typically collected through standard analytics and cookie technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to allow a California-licensed physician to review your intake as part of a Good Faith Exam and determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate; facilitate prescribing, compounding, and shipment of medication to your California address; communicate with you about your care, your account, and your orders; process payment once a physician has approved your protocol; maintain accurate clinical and business records as required by law and medical board regulations; improve our website, intake process, and services; and meet our legal, regulatory, and safety obligations. We do not sell your personal or health information, and we do not use your health information for advertising purposes.
3. How Your Information Is Protected
Your health information is handled with the same care and confidentiality standards that apply throughout the healthcare industry, and your care is delivered consistent with the privacy and security principles behind the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, and we require the third-party platforms we work with — including our clinical records and scheduling platform and our payment processor — to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality protections of their own. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We continually review and update our safeguards as our services and technology evolve.
4. Who We Share Information With
We share information only as necessary to provide the Services or as required by law, including with: treating physicians who review your intake and provide care; our clinical records and scheduling platform, which securely stores and manages your intake, visit, and treatment records on our behalf; the compounding pharmacy that fills your prescription, which receives the clinical and shipping information necessary to prepare and ship your medication; our payment processor, which securely handles your payment method through a PCI-compliant hosted form; service providers who support our operations, such as customer support tooling, hosting, and analytics providers, under agreements that limit their use of your information to the services they perform for us; and regulators, courts, or law enforcement, where required by valid legal process, or as needed to protect the safety of you or others. We do not share your health information with employers, marketers, or data brokers.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help the site function properly and to understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality. Analytics data we collect through the public marketing website is generally not linked to the clinical health information you submit through the secure intake process.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information, subject to our obligation to retain certain medical and billing records as required by law and applicable medical recordkeeping regulations; opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time; and ask questions about how your information is used and shared. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
7. Data Retention
We retain your intake, clinical, and billing records for as long as necessary to provide care, support your ongoing treatment, and comply with medical recordkeeping, tax, and other legal requirements, even after you cancel your account.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended only for individuals age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the revised policy with an updated effective date, and material changes will be communicated in a reasonably prominent way.
